Government Property Portal

The Government Property Portal is a secure information system used by government agencies to manage and report on their property portfolio.

All mandated agencies have access to the Government Property Portal, which provides a comprehensive solution for managing leases, assets, facilities, office space and capital projects.

Government property mandate

Other government entities can opt in to use the Property Portal.

Benefits of using the Property Portal

Using the Property Portal helps agencies:

  • better manage and use their office space, property and leases
  • reduce operational costs by managing maintenance costs of assets
  • easily maintain and report on space, assets, facilities and lease-related obligations
  • improve risk management capability and practices.

One property information system across government means:

  • reduced costs – removes the need for agencies to maintain their own property information system
  • any ongoing upgrades, management, support and risks sit with GPO
  • cost of developing new features and enhancements is shared across agencies.

Modules available

  1. Property and lease – a single location to manage all your properties and leases.
  2. Space management – helps you make best use of your office space and reduce operational costs.
  3. Asset management – helps you manage and maintain your property and equipment assets.
  4. Facilities management – manage the availability and condition of your facilities and assets through work requests.
  5. Condition assessment – a way to evaluate your agency's physical assets and determine corrective action based on risk mitigation and operational priorities.
  6. Hoteling – a workstation booking system.
  7. Capital projects – helps agencies manage property projects from fit-outs to new builds.

A mobile app is available for the space management, asset management, facilities management and condition assessment modules.

How we use the Property Portal

Information from mandated agencies stored in the Property Portal creates a wider system view used by the Government Property Office to:

  • keep Government informed about the current state of the government office portfolio
  • provide key information to support integrated planning through the Government Office Programme
  • identify opportunities for agencies to optimise the use of space
  • support evidence-based evaluation and reporting for our work programme.

Costs

Agencies are charged an annual fee to use the Property Portal. The fee covers:

  • licensing
  • hosting
  • support for data and system activities
  • upgrades and improvements to the system
  • provision of data and insights to support agencies’ property planning.

Get access to the Property Portal

The Property Portal is available to all mandated government agencies. Non-mandated agencies should contact GPO to request access.
